how yogastudio is green
yogastudio is one of Plymouth's 2009 Environmental Champions!!
We try our best to tread lightly. Let us list the ways!! We:
- Recycle paper, tp tubes, paper towel tubes
- Send packaging BACK to companies for them to re-use
- Re-use envelopes, packages, packaging, coupons, backs of paper
- Use organic cleaning supplies
- Have rechargable batteries
- Set the heat on a timer
- Have eco-friendly ceiling tiles to conserve heat
- Offer fun incentives for biking, walking
- Have small class schedule postcards on 100% recycled paper
- Have a basket for tops of waterbottles so they can be recycled
- Have re-usable glasses for water instead of plastic water bottles for sale
- Use roll cloth drying towels in the bathrooms
- Wash our hands with Dr. Bronner's eco-friendly soap
- No bags in our four garbages
- We compost all compostables
- We shortened our 90 minutes hot class to 75 minutes (15 min X 13 classes per week X 52 = ENERGY SAVINGS!
- We unashamedly re-use, re-gift, and re-everything!
How YOU can live greener--plastic reduction plan:
- Buy your yogurt in larger containers
- Re-use, re-use and re-use your plastic containers
- Instead of the plastic containers, buy your salad in the bags, rinse out, and recycle the bag
- Bring your own container for restaurant leftovers OR
- Ask for a small piece of tin foil and wrap it up yourself
- When you see excessive packaging, write the company and demand less
- Buy from eco-friendly companies
- Take your excess packing peanuts to Kinkos or UPS stores....they love it!
- Try your bestest and we love you!
- Some items are hard to recycle. Need an awesomely exhaustive list about where to recycle tricky items? A really cool, cooperative, bike shop in south Minneapolis made a list for you! Check out The Hub's website!.
