class descriptions

All classes are drop-in and for all levels!!

We recommend trying all of our classes. Remember…it takes about 4-5 classes before you can really make an educated decision about any class or experience. Come!! Try!! See!! You’ll be just fine. Don’t worry if you don’t know exactly WHAT something is. Come find out.

Hot Yoga:

The room is heated to about body temperature. We use simple hatha yoga poses and pauses to target every joint, tissue, organ, muscle and gland in the body. Great for all levels because the poses are simple and there are very few down dogs. The challenge is created in how long we hold the pose and how deep you choose to go. Each class includes balancing, strengthening, compression, twisting, hip opening, ab strengthening and a delicious rest at the end. Choose from 60-75 minute classes. Expect to work hard and sweat. Bring: yoga mat, large towel and water. Dress lightly with non-baggy clothes. How about a tankini and shorts?? Level: Beginner to Advanced.

Vinyasa Yoga:

We heat the room to about 85 degrees and YOU flow. This class is based on moving from one pose to the next using sun salutations and postures that connect to one another. Vinyasa means following your breath, so with each inhale or exhale, you go deeper or back off or move to another pose. The pace can be bit faster, but you always choose your own pace. Each class includes flow, balance, strength, compression, twists, hip/heart openers, core work and a built-in peaceful rest at the end. Classes are 60 minutes. Bring: yoga mat, large towel, and water. Dress lightly with non-baggy clothes. Level: Intermediate to Advanced.

Restorative/YogaNap:

This class is designed to let go of everything you hold onto in your body and mind. The class takes place entirely on the floor. You will be fully supported using various props—blankets, towels, bolsters, pads, blocks, straps and other creative things we use to help you LET GO. Each student learns how to set themselves up with the help of a well-trained, loving teacher. This class is great for ALL—athletes can work harder on their training days, tight people can loosen up, tired folks can take a yoga nap, stressed-out peeps can find solace in the quiet and stillness. Bring: water. Dress lightly since we are a warm studio. Level: All. Expect to move minimally.

Yin Yoga:

A deep stretching class to loosen and let go of tight joints and muscles. Poses are mainly on the floor and are held between 4-5 minutes to go to the deepest area of need. Music is quiet and soothing. Teacher talking is minimal. You will be in Yin poses for 20-30 minutes of these classes. Bring: water, big towel, yoga mat. Dress lightly. Level: All.

Pigs Fly Yoga:

As in..."I’ll do yoga when pigs fly." Well, pigs are flyin’ at yogastudio. Come see!! A 40-45 minute class of simple poses designed to challenge you without turning you into a pretzel or confusing you. If you don’t really want to do yoga, but know you need it—this is your class. You will be guided by a fun, happy teacher to help you feel better, loosen up and get stronger. You’ll learn a few yoga basics, get exposed to some Sanskrit (the language of yoga) and get a lot done in a short amount of time. Bring: water, yoga mat, big towel. Dress lightly. Level: Beginner.
